GET SHRINKY PAPER KIT

Let me tell you about my current hyperfixation: shrink plastic crafts. If you’ve never tried them before, you’re seriously missing out. It’s one of those things that feels super nostalgic (hello, childhood craft memories!) but also has endless potential for making cute, unique, and even gift-worthy creations.

This kit is basically a dream come true for DIY lovers. You get everything you need in one box:

  • 20 shrinky plastic sheets
  • 12 acrylic paint markers
  • 20 tassels (because keychains need a lil’ flair, obviously)
  • 30 keychain rings, clips, and jump rings (so many options!)
  • Plus the tools - hole punch, scissors, tweezers.

Basically, it’s like a mini crafting studio in a box.

How Shrinky Plastic Works (and why it’s so fun)

Here’s the deal: the sheets are made of PVC, frosted on one side so you can draw and color easily. You just:

Draw your design (markers or any permanent medium works).

Cut it out.

Bake it in the oven at 325°F for a couple minutes—or hit it with a heat gun if you’re fancy.

Then comes the magic: your design shrinks down to about 20% of its size but gets thicker and sturdier, turning into durable little charms. It’s like watching science and art have a baby.

Pro tip: while it’s still hot, flatten it with a heavy object so it stays nice and even.

What You Can Make

This is where it gets addictive. Think:

  • Keychains (obviously)
  • Jewelry (earrings, necklaces, charms)
  • Ornaments
  • Custom little gifts or keepsakes

Personally? I made mine out of some of my favorite albums. And here’s the fun part: I’m actually bringing them to the My Chemical Romance concert to give out.

Honestly, that’s what makes this kit so cool. It’s a way to take the things you love and literally turn them into something you can carry with you or share with people.

Each sheet is 11.4” × 8.0” (nice and roomy for multiple designs), and the 0.3 mm thickness is just right. Not flimsy, but easy to cut before shrinking. It’s also such a fun group activity. You can do this with your kids, your friends, or just keep it all to yourself for some therapeutic solo crafting time.

This shrink plastic kit isn’t just “arts and crafts.” It’s like another form of art therapy for me. You get to draw, color, cut, bake, and then see your creation transform right in front of you. It’s simple, fun, and the results are actually useful (hello, custom keychains!).

If you’re looking for a new creative outlet or you'd love to make some unique handmade gifts (or concert freebies, if you’re me)... this kit is the perfect place to start.
